You can click on each question to jump to the answer!

How do I visit a website or write an email from the magazine?

Finding out more information about a company, product or service you see in our magazine is easy!  Simply look for a website address or email address in the ad or article and click on it.  All websites and email addresses are linked and a simple click will take you there!  To see what is linked on a page, simply click the "Show Links" button found on the right side of the screen.

How do I zoom in to make the text or image more clear?

Double-click anywhere on the magazine and it will zoom you in.  Please give your computer time to process the new information.  Depending on the speed of your computer and connection, this may take a while.  You can also use the magnifying glass button on the toolbar to zoom in.  Once zoomed, click and drag to view the page.  Double-clicking again will zoom you back out.

Zooming in still isn't clear enough.  Is there another option?

Yes!  All articles titles are linked.  Simply click on the title of the article you wish to read and it will open a new window.  There you can make the text larger or smaller and even read it in multiple languages if you'd like.  Because it is in a new window, once you're done, just close the window and you'll be back to where you left off in the magazine.

How do I share something I like with my friends?

Click on the "Share" button on the top toolbar and a box will drop down allowing you to select your favorite social networking site.

How do I subscribe to the online magazine?

To subscribe to our monthly digital magazine, click on the "Subscribe" button on the right hand toolbar.  A box will pop up asking for your name, zip code and email address.  Once you subscribe, you will receive an email once a month letting you know when our newest issue is available for viewing - along with a link straight to it!

All email addresses provided to Great Lakes Scuttlebutt are kept private and are NOT shared.

How do I print or download the magazine?

Only subscribers have the ability to print or download the magazine.  Follow the steps to subscribe.  Once you are subscribed, new buttons will appear on the right toolbar for "Print" and "PDF."

Why does the magazine prompt me for my email address?

To better serve you, the magazine will ask you to subscribe to our digital version.  This is to give you the opportunity to register your email address as a subscriber.  Subscribers receive a single email once a month when our newest issue is available online as well as access to the "Print" and "PDF" buttons for the magazine.  If you do not wish to subscribe, simply close the window!

I've already given my email address.  Why does the magazine ask for it again?

The magazine is set up to remember your computer.  However, if you clear your computer's "cookies," the magazine will not recognize you as a previous visitor and will prompt you to subscribe again.  Never fear!  Because you are already a subscriber, you can rest assured that you will continue to receive our monthly magazine notices whether or not you subscribe again.  Also, filling out the subscription box will NOT duplicate your email address in our system but may allow you access to the "Print" and "PDF" buttons in which only subscribers have access.
